Training & Micro Loans

CHALLENGE
Well over 80% of the residents of Kishapu are
peasant farmers who cultivate cotton, rice, maize
and raise a variety of farm animals such as cattle,
sheep, and goats. Some of the crops harvested are
sold for cash and others are used for domestic
consumption. However, the methods of farming
employed are miserably basic and thus the output
is very low. Essentially, this farming is
subsistence.

SOLUTION
Provide education and training for more advanced
forms of farming and technology to improve
productivity. Vocational and basic business training
courses ought to be taught to enlarge occupational
opportunities. Micro-financing is another tool to
spur business activity and help raise standards of
living.
