Drought CHALLENGE Water is a basic element of life. Due to lack of reliable rains, drought is a brutal reality in this area. People have to walk miles to fetch a meager pot of murky, bacteria-infested water. SOLUTION Create and sustain a clean and reliable water system based on man-made wells or dams. In the summer of 2008 KCDC members John Shoka, Max Shoka, and Mary Braham traveled to Kishapu with Shinyanga water experts to examine the water situation and suggest ways to improve; either by digging dams or wells. Further, research and analysis must be done to determine the most viable solution. Return |
